Here's to ~

Here's to 2010!

The year where we were tested, tried
and successfully grew in our relationships
together as a family.

The year of personal growth, spiritual revival
and greater depth in our marriage -
where it didn't always look pretty
but where we didn't let it get in the way of our vows.

The year where friendships were deepened
and developed and the lines blurred
between friends and family.

And here's to 2011!

The year where we will focus on our health,
making sure we treat our bodies
with the utmost respect and care - not taking
this one gift of life for granted.

The year where we will celebrate 10 years
of marriage - where we will reevaluate
our dreams and plan for the next 10!

The year where we are becoming content with
the blessings the Lord gives us...in His time.
Focusing on what He HAS blessed us with,
rather than focusing on what He hasn't yet.

The year where we will continue our depth
with friendships, develop some new
passions with our hobbies, and grow as parents
to our precious gift of a daughter.

Here's to the year we've just celebrated and the year coming up -
may it be rich in His blessings and may we glorify Him in every way.

Happy 2011!

Christmas Past ~

Just when I didn't think that Christmas could
get any better than when I was a child -
I had a child and was able to experience
the magic of Christmas all over again.

The wonder, the anticipation, the excitement....
....seeing all the candles lit on the
Advent wreath - celebrating our Savior's birth.

The opportunity to be with family,
the looks on their faces when
they open our carefully selected gifts.

The continuing of traditions that were years
in the making, the start of new ones
as each new family grows.

Celebrating families far and near;
those who couldn't make it, and those who
travelled to be together.

Baking treats, roasting meats -
setting a beautiful table....
making those meals set apart from any other
during the year.  It's Christmas, afterall!

Attending the candlelight service at church,
bowing heads in prayer - lifting our voices
in songs of praise - for the baby born for
little ol' me, and you...if you choose to accept Him.

Christmas always comes as quickly as it passes -
and we are left with a swift kick
back into reality of the everyday - but these days are different -
as we have new and cherished memories that
flood our hearts and minds.

Thank you, Lord for giving us our precious Son.
For all that Christmas represents - and
for allowing us to celebrate this miracle in this life you loaned to us.
